Claire Whitfield IASF-A BHS APC

COURSE TUTOR & ASSESSOR

Claire has a passion for teaching and sharing  knowledge and says  "The more I can help educate horse owners to the importance of saddle fitting and what to look for, the better. We all need to work together for the well being of the horse. One thing I love about horses and working with them, is that you never stop learning. There is always something, whether it be super subtle or glaringly obvious, horses will always find a way of teaching you what you need to learn, at that moment, as long as you're willing to listen".

As a qualified Saddle Fitter and coach Claire takes a classical approach to training, focusing on rider balance, weight aids and their application and the gymnastic development of the horse. Claire is Sylvia Loch's only accredited weight aids instructor as well as a certified equestrian proofreader who has written articles for non-profit magazine Tracking-up. With experience in showing, dressage, jumping and cross country teamed with her saddle fitting expertise and coaching, Claires aim is to help the horse be in the best balance to be able to carry the rider as easily as possible by placing the rider in the best possible balance to apply their aids effectively and enable the horse to work as freely and as balanced as possible and to unite the horse and rider in optimal balance through the saddle
